Who we are

The mobile application TravelBabble is published and operated by GB4 Apps LLC, a United States limited liability company ("GB4 Apps," "we," "our," or "us"). 

Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using TravelBabble, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. Any violation of these terms may result in being banned from the app. Users are also able to report users who violate these terms.

2. Description of Service

TravelBabble is a platform that allows users to connect with each other with the intent to be used primarily by travelers. Users are able to search for other users in their local area, within other cities and send messages to each other. The app also uses area based “Channels” where users can chat and organize events with people in their local area and abroad.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use TravelBabble.

4. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under your account. We encourage users to adjust their privacy settings to suit their comfort level. This can be accomplished through the “Profile and Settings” screen within the app.

5. User-Generated Content and Acceptable Conduct

TravelBabble allows users to create and share content, including profile information, images, messages, and events (“User Content”).

You are solely responsible for the content you upload or share.

By posting content, you grant TravelBabble a non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, display, and distribute your content within the app.

User-generated content. TravelBabble includes features that allow you and other users to create and share content (for example, profile information, messages, event titles and descriptions, channel posts, and similar materials you choose to submit). You are responsible for the content you submit and for ensuring you have the rights to share it.

What you agree not to post. You agree that you will not use TravelBabble to upload, transmit, store, or otherwise make available any content that:

• is unlawful, fraudulent, or intended to promote or facilitate illegal activity;
• is sexually explicit or pornographic, or that sexualizes minors in any way;
• depicts, encourages, or glorifies graphic or gratuitous violence, self-harm, or serious physical harm to people or animals;
• harasses, threatens, intimidates, or incites violence against any person or group;
• infringes anyone else's intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other legal rights; or
• contains malware or is designed to disrupt or misuse the service.

No guarantee of automated filtering. TravelBabble may not use automated systems to review, filter, or block all user content before it is visible to others. Because of that, you may encounter content from other users that you find objectionable. If you see content that appears to violate this section or that makes you feel unsafe, please contact us using the email in the "Contact Us" section below or through the in app reporting feature, accessible from the profile (of the user you are trying to report).

Our response. We may investigate reports and may remove or restrict content, suspend or terminate accounts, or take other appropriate action when we believe a violation has occurred or when needed to protect users, the public, or our services. We are not obligated to monitor all content and may act at our discretion.

Related terms. Expectations in this section apply alongside the Privacy Policy. If we publish separate Community Guidelines for TravelBabble, those documents govern use of the app to the extent they address the same topics.

6. User-Generated Events & Safety

TravelBabble allows users to create and participate in events. These events are organized by users, not by TravelBabble.

TravelBabble does not verify event organizers or attendees and does not supervise or control events.

Participation in any event is at your own discretion and risk.

Users are solely responsible for their interactions and conduct. TravelBabble is not responsible for any incidents, damages, or disputes that may occur in connection with user-organized events.

7. Safety Disclaimer

TravelBabble encourages users to exercise caution when interacting with others, especially when meeting in person.

We recommend meeting in public places, informing others of your plans, and utilizing the in-app privacy features when creating events and participating in the channels. Be prepared to contact local emergency services if necessary. Users are also able to control who can view their profile through the “Profile and Settings” screen in the app.

TravelBabble does not guarantee the identity, intentions, or behavior of users.

8. Content Moderation

Users may report content or behavior that violates these Terms.

TravelBabble reviews reports and may remove content or restrict or ban accounts at its discretion.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TravelBabble is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

This includes interactions with other users and participation in user-organized events.

10. Changes to the Service

TravelBabble may modify or discontinue features at any time without notice.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use TravelBabble.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Account Information: Email address, username, profile information (name, bio, profile picture), and preferences you provide during registration.
• Location Data: Your current location to help you find nearby travelers and to power location-based features. Other users do not see your precise coordinates; we use generalized location (for example, city, county, or park area) where the product shows location to others. What location-related information is visible and to who is also controlled by in-app privacy settings. We collect location only when you grant permission and use features that require it.
• Camera and Photos: We access your device's camera or photo library only when you choose to upload or update your profile picture (or similar user-initiated uploads). We do not access your camera or photos at any other time.
• Messages and Communications: Messages you send through the app, including direct messages and location-based chats.
• Social and Events: Friend connections, friend requests, and activity related to channels and events you create, join, or browse—including event titles, descriptions, timing, visibility settings (such as public, friends-only, or request-to-join), join requests, and attendee or organizer information as needed to operate those features.
• Push Notifications: If you enable notifications, we associate a device push token with your account so we can deliver alerts (for example, new messages, event join requests, approvals, or event updates). You can turn off notifications in your device settings.
• Usage Data: Information about how you use the app, such as features accessed and interactions with other users.
• Technical Data: Information such as device type, operating system version, and app version, as needed for security, reliability, and support.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and improve our services, including connecting you with other travelers
• Enable location-based features and show nearby travelers
• Facilitate messaging, friend connections, channels, and events—including join requests, approvals, and notifications related to those features
• Send push notifications you have opted into, where supported by your device
• Manage your account, privacy preferences, and in-app settings
• Detect abuse, protect security, and comply with legal obligations

3. Data Storage, Location, and Security

We host and process personal information in the United States (and, if we use subprocessors in other regions in the future, we will describe that here). We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

Data is stored on our backend infrastructure and is accessed only by authorized personnel who need it to provide our services.

Push delivery may use third-party services (such as Google Firebase Cloud Messaging for Android and Apple Push Notification service for iOS) that process device tokens and message payloads solely to deliver notifications; those providers act as service providers under their own terms and privacy policies.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not "sell" or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are commonly defined under U.S. state privacy laws. We may disclose information only as follows:

• With other users as part of the app's core functionality (for example, showing your profile according to your privacy settings, displaying messages you send, or showing event or channel information to participants as designed by each feature)
• With service providers who assist us in operating the app (including cloud hosting and push notification delivery), subject to confidentiality and instructions that limit use to providing our services
• If required by law, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of GB4 Apps, our users, or the public
• In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, where personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction (we will continue to protect it as described in this policy or give you notice)

5. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under applicable privacy laws. Generally, you can:

• Access, update, or delete certain account information through the app settings
• Control in-app privacy settings, including who can see your location, profile, and other visibility options
• Revoke location, camera, photo library, or notification permissions through your device settings
• Delete your account

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You may have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to correct inaccurate information, subject to exceptions under California law. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as described in Section 4. To submit a request, contact us at the email below. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Users outside the United States should note that data is processed in the U.S.; by using TravelBabble, you understand your information may be transferred to the United States.

6. Children's Privacy

TravelBabble is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have collected information from a user under 18, please contact us immediately.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and change the "Last Updated" date. For material changes, we may provide additional notice (for example, in-app). Your continued use of TravelBabble after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy, except where prohibited by law.
